Jane, Ron, Di and Peter Jackman the next door neighbours joined for a posh nosh on Friday evening. By posh that meant I had to dress up (a little bit). We had a curry as if you hadn't guessed from the poppadoms on the table. It seemed that everybody had a go with the camera, there is one particular photo which Sue will not allow me to put on the blog, but it's a real frightener. Here goes with the better photos.

Talking of photos, the select photocompetition that took place during the summer is available for all to view at http://frotocomp.blogspot.com . The results were only published on the 25th Nov.

The island unit is now finished along with all the decoration etc.etc.
The doors and end were made to measure locally and are an exact match for our oak unit. Needless to say Sue and I are extremely pleased. The white doors: one came from Ian next door and we had one in the loft, both of which are the correct size, so that was a bonus. Matching old units is impossible.
The solid oak top came in a 3 metre length, weighing 72 kilos, this was cut to size sanded down and oiled. It is so heavy there are only 2 screws holding it down!
