Easter Weekend

Maggie, Andy and Tara came for Easter weekend. Fortunately the weather was very good and so we managed lots of walks in the New Forest. On Saturday night Jane and Ron joined us for an evening meal, unfortunately there are no photos to record the event.
On Wednesday I lead a ramble from Linford Bottom, we had checked this out on one of the weekend walks, but it had rained quite a bit in the meantime and so it was very wet and streams were running where there hadn’t been any previously.

Thank You

A big thank you has to go to Neil for collecting us and dropping us off at the airport. We also stayed with him, Yuliya and Daniel at the start and end of the holiday in their very nice house in Peiga (Peiya) about 20 minutes from Paphos. He also kindly lent us his Rav4 that was very useful on the gravel tracks.

Cyprus - don't concrete over it!

Cyprus is a very beautiful island with many types of flora and fauna. Unfortunately the Cypriots are trying very hard to concrete over many seaside areas, but they are leaving the inland areas alone, thank goodness. Whilst there, the Troodos Mountains had snow on them so we didn’t venture up, it might just have been a little chilly.

Cyprus Visit - on the move

We visited Tis and Ron en route from Polis to Pissouri. They live at Kamares Village, outside Paphos, in a newly built house with fabulous views. It was great to see them both. We had seen Ron about 18 months ago, but we hadn’t seen Tis for 26 years, wow! We went out for Sunday lunch with them and some friends of theirs.
We arrived later at our apartment in Pissouri Beach where we were to stay for 12 nights. This was a good base to visit everyone from as it was quite central.

Cyprus Visit

The last of our trips this winter was to Cyprus. The primary purpose was to visit Sue’s brother Neil, his wife Yuliya and nephew Daniel. We also have a few friends of long standing, who live on Cyprus, and we intended to visit as many of them as possible.
Cyprus has a very long history and we wanted to see some of the antiquities as well.
